How to Play Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation
Quick start
Follow the opening dream until the hero wakes in Weaver's Peak. Speak with Tania and the village elder, who asks you to sell the Village Goods and obtain the Spirit Crown for the festival. Collect the goods, equip your supplies and take the mountain path toward Haggleton. Read the signs and use healing items between fights. Vocation changing is introduced later in the journey.
Controls
DS buttons: D-pad moves the party and menu cursor; A talks, examines and confirms; X opens the main menu and confirms choices; B cancels. Y shows area information or expands the map where available. L/R rotate the view in supported locations; L+R resets the angle. In battle, choose a command and target from the menus with the D-pad and A. Save by speaking to a priest or nun and choosing the save/confession option.

Dragon Quest VI begins with an unsettling dream before sending its hero into ordinary village errands that soon reveal a much larger mystery. Its linked worlds invite you to compare places, people and events rather than treating every new region as unrelated. Companions bring different strengths to command battles, and the vocation system later adds skills that can be combined across a character's growth. The DS remake uses rotatable environments and party conversations to support exploration. Finding a path between worlds matters as much as preparing for the next monster, while the opening village task gives a practical first reason to leave home.
