How to Play E.T. The Extra Terrestrial
Quick start
Start a new game and begin Level 1, Arrival. Move E.T. around the planet, collect every plant sample and return to the spaceship; use B to levitate objects or heal plants and hold a direction with A to run. Later levels switch between E.T., Elliott, bicycles and the spaceship, and a password is shown from Level 2 onward.
Controls
Basic exploration: D-pad moves E.T. or Elliott; A makes E.T. run at full walk or Elliott throw a baseball; B uses E.T.'s levitation/healing power; L/R switches characters where available; START pauses. Bicycle stages use Left/Right to steer, A to pedal and B to jump. Flight and puzzle levels use the stage-specific controls given in the manual.
