How to Play Etrian Odyssey III: The Drowned City
Quick start
Create a guild, register five adventurers and put them in Formation. Check equipment and initial skills, then visit Via Senatus and accept the opening mapping mission. Enter B1F, listen to the guard and map the required area with the stylus. Present the map to the guard and report back before planning your first sea outings.
Controls
D-pad up/down moves forward/back and left/right turns. L/R step sideways; A confirms and B cancels. Y opens the party menu and X zooms the map. Use the Touch Screen tools to draw walls, fill floors and place icons. Choose battle commands for the party rather than treating movement as a real-time attack.
Etrian Odyssey III: The Drowned City — About this game
The Drowned City follows a custom guild investigating the labyrinth beneath the sea city of Armoroad. Five adventurers combine their classes in turn-based battles while you record routes, walls and discoveries on the DS map. Beyond the dungeon, voyages introduce another map to explore and landmarks that open sea quests. The original DS release lets you tackle sea battles with NPC allies or cooperate with up to four nearby friends over local wireless, adding a separate challenge to the main exploration.
