How to Play Etrian Odyssey
Quick start
Start a new game, name your guild and register at least five adventurers at the Explorers Guild. Put five into Formation, check their equipment and spend initial skill points through Custom. Visit Radha Hall for the first mapping mission, then enter B1F and follow the guard’s instructions. Draw as you explore and return to town before supplies run out.
Controls
Use the D-pad to move in the dungeon and choose commands, A to confirm and B to cancel. Y opens the party menu; X zooms the map in or out. In this original DS game, L/R browse floor maps. Select the drawing tools on the Touch Screen to trace walls, paint tiles and place markers.
Etrian Odyssey — About this game
Etrian Odyssey makes exploration a record of your own decisions. You recruit characters by class, arrange a five-person party and descend into a labyrinth shown from a first-person view. The lower DS screen is your map sheet: draw walls, colour explored ground and mark discoveries with the stylus. Turn-based fights drain health and TP, so a useful route back to town matters as much as progress. Selling monster materials opens equipment options for the next expedition.
