How to Play Famicom Meijin Sen
Quick start
If you are playing shogi for the first time, first familiarize yourself with the order of tsume shogi, in which you hit the king in three moves. For this Shogi game, choose a CPU game, and if necessary, check the settings to drop pieces on your side before starting. During a game, use the cross button to move the cursor to a piece on the board, press A to select the piece, and press A again at the destination. When you want to play a piece, move the cursor far enough to the piece stand to select it. In league matches, it will be easier to proceed by checking the ball protection and piece losses after each game, and after the game is over, review the broken steps in replay mode.
Controls
Cross button: Controls the menu, cursor on the board, and direction of game playback. A button: Confirm item, select piece, and decide where to move. To move your piece to the piece stand, press A twice or press the cross button for a long time. In replay mode, press and hold the cross button up or down to advance or rewind the game score. If you press START during a game, you will be returned to the title without confirmation, so be careful not to press it incorrectly.
Famicom Meijin Sen — About this game
"Famicom Meijinsen" is a shogi software released by SNK that includes 4 modes: Hon Shogi, Tsume Shogi, League Match, and Reenactment. With Hon Shogi, you can play free games against the computer or against two players, and with Tsume Shogi, you can try 3-move, 5-move, and 7-move problems. The main league match starts at C class, and by winning a specified number of games in each class, you are promoted to B class and A class, and at the end, you aim to become a master by defeating Meijin Sakanishi. The most recent game record is automatically saved, and you can look back on the steps in replay mode. The changes in the opponent's facial expressions, the newspaper after the game, and the effects of the master match are also included, allowing you to experience the atmosphere of gradually aiming for the top as a shogi player.
