How to Play ファミコン探偵倶楽部 消えた後継者 前編
Quick start
Select "Chosa Kaishi" as the title and press START. Use the up and down arrow buttons to select a command, press A to confirm and send a message, and press B to cancel. Try asking the person you have met, and if the answers change, research the person and their surroundings again. In the scene specified by the cursor, use the cross button to move the target and press A to decide. If you want to interrupt, select "Yes, stop" and save the investigation record with START.
Controls
Cross button: Select commands and characters, move the cursor. A: Confirm, send message, enter selected characters. B: Cancelled. START: Start the game on the title screen. After choosing "Yes, I'll stop", press START to save and interrupt. In the title, ``Chousa Kaishi'' starts from the beginning, and ``Chousa Kaishi'' restarts the investigation that was saved. When restarting, the game will start at the detective agency regardless of where it left off.

``ファミコン探偵倶楽部 消えた後継者 前編'' begins with a boy found at the bottom of a cliff who has lost his memory and learns that he is an assistant at the Soraki Detective Agency and was investigating the suspicious death of the head of the Ayashiro family. Select commands that appear on the screen, such as ``listen,'' ``search,'' ``call,'' and ``bashoido,'' listen to stories from the people of Myojin Village, and carefully research people and backgrounds to increase information. The key to progress is to reconfirm the question items and locations once new testimony is obtained. The first part contains the first half of the investigation surrounding the incident and lost memories, and the investigation records are carried over to the second part to pursue the truth.
