How to Play Famista '94
Quick start
Press START on the title, select "1P PLAY" with the four-way controller, and press A to confirm. Next, select your team, stadium, and starting pitcher using the D-pad and A. If you want to practice for a short time, you can change the number of innings by clicking ``OPTION'' first. To hit, use the cross keys to adjust your standing position and swing with A to match the ball. In defense, position the pitcher, press A to throw, and when the ball goes in the air, use the cross keys to move the fielder to catch it.
Controls
Cross key: Move players, designate bases, select pitch type, course, and menu. To bat, swing with A, and release A during the swing to bunt. The pitch starts with A, and when it goes up, it's a fork or changeup, and when it goes down, it's a fastball. Change the course to the left and right when releasing the ball, and change the course to the left and right after the ball is thrown. To run a base, use the cross keys to specify the next base, press B to advance, specify the base you want to return to, and press A to return. Immediately after the ball is hit, the runner automatically begins running. To catch a ball, use the cross keys to move the fielder. Jump with A without specifying the direction when catching the ball, and dive catch with A and the direction of the ball (not allowed for pitchers). After catching the ball, specify the base and throw the ball to A, or if you do not specify a base, throw to first base. START: Time. Switch hitters take their time and change their turn at bat with SELECT.
Famista '94 — About this game
"Famistar '94" is a baseball game for Famicom where you control real players and enjoy pitching, hitting, base running, and fielding. ``1P PLAY,'' where you play against the computer, and ``2P PLAY,'' where you play against a friend, are two games in which you can choose your favorite team and stadium. In ``Aim to be the best in Japan,'' you choose one of the 12 Central and Pacific teams and advance to the Japan Series by defeating the remaining five teams in the same league. The league game ends with one loss, and the Japan Series will be won by the first team to win two games in the third round. There are three types of stadiums: the artificial turf Umaka Dome, the standard Jingu no Mori, and the underwater dome Aquarium. In addition to being able to choose the length of the game from 1, 3, 5, or 9 innings, there is also a setting where you can leave the fielding and base running to the computer, and you can play by learning the timing to hit in short games first. Switch hitters can change their at-bats to left or right during time.
