After the opening story, Tohma begins in a ruined area; walk right and collect the first crystal pieces while learning the timing of his jumps. Your first goal is to cross the platforms and hazards without falling and reach the next story scene. Hold the jump button as you reach a ledge, then press Up to pull yourself onto it; the deliberate standing jump has a short wind-up, so use running jumps when you need immediate distance.

Menus: D-pad selects, A confirms or advances dialogue, B cancels/returns. Exploration: Left/Right moves Tohma, Up/Down climbs or changes posture where allowed, and A jumps; keep A held to catch a ledge, then press Up to climb. START opens the pause menu, where the five-card combat hand can be rearranged. In turn-based fights, use the D-pad to choose a punch, kick, chop or special card and A to commit it; B cancels before confirmation. Punch beats kick, kick beats chop and chop beats punch.
