How to Play Fantasy Zone
Quick start
Press Start at the title screen and use the D-pad to fly in any of eight directions. B fires the main shot and A drops the equipped bomb or uses the secondary weapon. Destroy all marked bases, collect the coins they leave, then enter a shop balloon to buy speed and weapon parts. Pause with Start when you need a break.
Controls
D-pad: move Opa-Opa in eight directions and navigate shop menus. B: fire Weapon 1, the forward shot. A: use Weapon 2, normally bombs. Start: begin the game and pause or resume play. Select: not used during play. The Famicom manual specifies Controller 1 for a one-player game.
Fantasy Zone — About this game
Fantasy Zone is the Famicom conversion of Sega’s colorful side-scrolling shooter. Opa-Opa can travel left or right through each stage, hunting every enemy base while surviving waves of attackers. Destroyed enemies drop coins that fund speed, weapon, bomb, and extra-life purchases at shop balloons. Most purchased equipment is lost after a life, so success depends on choosing practical upgrades, clearing the remaining bases efficiently, and reaching each boss with enough lives and firepower.
