How to Play Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates
Quick start
Choose the single-player story and take control of Yuri. Explore the home area, use the save crystal nearby, then go upstairs and speak to Latov twice. Follow the story to Hill Caves. Practise A attacks and B jumps, lift the key with Y and carry it toward the matching door mechanism. Read the early magic instructions before using X; save again when you reach the cave's crystal.
Controls
DS: D-pad moves; A attacks, examines or collects; B jumps/cancels; Y lifts and places objects or enemies. Select an available spell/item on the Touch Screen, hold X to position its target ring with the D-pad, then release X to use it. L calls companions closer and can lock magic rings in the relevant context; R uses the current character's tribal ability. START opens the menu. Touch controls select characters, spells and map panels.

Ring of Fates follows Yuri and Chelinka from their childhood home into a crystal-linked adventure. Combat happens directly in the dungeon, with movement and jumping used to avoid attacks or reach weak points. Carrying objects, opening paths and crossing platforms make exploration as important as fighting. Magic uses a target ring positioned before release, giving spells a different rhythm from weapon attacks. Later companions add tribal abilities and can be switched during the story. The original DS release also included a separate local cooperative mode, while the single-player campaign focuses on the twins and their changing group.
