How to Play Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift
Quick start
Start a new game and follow the library scene into Ivalice. During the Klesta encounter, follow Cid's tutorial to move Luso and choose an attack. Check highlighted movement squares and attack range before confirming. After the guided steps, work with the clan to finish Klesta. Read the battle's law, keep wounded units out of danger and choose the direction a unit faces when its turn ends.
Controls
DS controls: D-pad moves the cursor; A confirms and opens the active unit's commands; B cancels. Choose Move, Action or Wait from the unit menu. X opens the main menu in normal play and starts battle on the placement screen. Y displays help/unit information; L/R cycle units. Confirm placement and facing with A. Touch-screen command shortcuts can be tapped when shown.

Tactics A2 sends Luso from a school library into Ivalice, where Cid's clan becomes his route through an unfamiliar world. Battles unfold on tiled maps, with movement, height, facing and turn order affecting each decision. Jobs define useful roles, while equipped gear teaches abilities that broaden a unit's options. Quests reward preparation as well as victory, and each battle's law adds a restriction to consider before acting. Between missions, managing the clan and its equipment is as important as moving the right fighter into position.
