How to Play Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light
Quick start
Begin a new story, name the heroes and explore Horne as Brandt. Visit the king in the castle, accept the rescue mission and receive the Steel Sword. Equip it before leaving; speak to the minister for travel funds and save with the Adventurer. Head northeast to North Caves. In early battles, use Attack while AP is available and Boost to restore your reserve.
Controls
DS controls: D-pad moves and selects; hold B while moving to walk. A confirms, talks and examines; B cancels. X opens the character menu and toggles Auto Mode during battle. Y changes the upper-screen display or sorts the item list. L/R rotate the character model in the Items, Abilities and Crowns screens. Touch the lower screen to move or choose icons. Battle commands are selected from the displayed menu; normal targets are automatic.

The 4 Heroes of Light follows Brandt and three other adventurers through a world presented like a storybook. Turn-based combat revolves around AP: attacks and abilities spend this small reserve, while Boost helps rebuild it for later actions. Ordinary battle targets are chosen automatically, so your main decisions concern the command, equipment and timing. Crowns unlock different roles and abilities as the journey unfolds, with gems supporting character development. Limited personal inventories make preparation matter, and story events separate and reunite the heroes. The result is an adventure about adapting a small group rather than repeating the same attack every turn.
