How to Play Fire Bam
Quick start
Choose NEW GAME and press Start. Inside the starting house, stand on the marked floor patches and press A to speak: the figure on the left restores energy and the one on the right saves. Leave the house, head left and enter the animal-head doorway to reach the forest. Move right, defeat enemies with B and collect Fire Roots. Pass the first doorway and enter the next tall-column building for the first scrolling battle course. Reach and defeat its boss to expand the world. After buying gear, open the item screen with Start and select it before continuing.
Controls
Left/Right: move. Up: enter a doorway. Down: crouch. A: jump, talk and confirm. B: attack with your weapon. Down+A: high jump. Up+B: spinning attack. Start: switch between the main view and the item screen. On the item screen, move the cursor with the directional pad and confirm equipment with A or B. Select: pause. A running approach also affects jumping distance, so control your speed before landing on narrow platforms.
Fire Bam — About this game
Fire Bam follows a young hero whose village has been sealed away and whose parents have been transformed into monsters by Domes. Its Famicom Disk System adventure combines a side-scrolling village and forest with entrances to battle courses and dungeons. Defeated enemies drop Fire Roots, which serve as currency for weapons, shields and boots. Choose equipment from the item screen after buying it; different gear changes the reach of your attacks, protection and movement options. Defeating bosses in Domes World expands the surrounding landscape and brings changes to the village and its shops, so returning to familiar places can reveal new opportunities. Bam's momentum and jumping require care on small platforms, while recovery and saving at home help prepare for the next expedition.
