How to Play Fire Rock
Quick start
When you start with START from the title, first check your footing on the left and right, jump briefly with A, and throw a torch with B to advance. On high rock walls, press the cross button toward the wall to grab onto it, then press A repeatedly to climb up little by little. Enemies have weak points, so in addition to firing from the front, try holding up or diagonally up and throwing with B. Meat increases your jumping power and blue hearts act as a barrier, so it's effective to collect items in the cave and then return to the place you couldn't reach. On the game over screen after a mistake, you can continue from the same stage by pressing START.
Controls
Cross button left and right: Move. A: Jump. B: Attack by throwing a torch. Insert the cross button in the direction of the rock wall, grab it, and press A repeatedly: Climb the wall. Hold up/diagonally upper right/diagonally upper left B: Throw the torch in that direction. To throw left or right, change direction and press B. START: Pause/resume during the game, continue from the same stage when the game is over. Press START+SELECT at the same time: Kill mode (self-destruction).
Fire Rock — About this game
"Fire Rock" is a side-scrolling action game developed by System Sacom for the Famicom Disk System. In a world where invaders arrived in the year 2102, built a base in ancient ruins underground, and began attacking the following year, a warrior aims for the heart of the enemy base. In addition to moving left and right and jumping, the main focus is on the unique movement of holding on to a rock wall and climbing while repeatedly pressing A, and torches can be thrown not only in front but also upwards and diagonally. As you collect items such as meat, weapons, and barriers scattered around the cave, your abilities will change, allowing you to jump longer to reach new footholds, and expand your exploration range. Each enemy has a small weak point, so you need to be accurate in positioning and throwing.
