How to Play Flower, Sun and Rain - Murder and Mystery in Paradise
Quick start
Begin Request 00 and follow the introduction until Peter's first puzzle. Open Catherine, choose the dark-green Type-C jack and connect it to Peter's eye. Enter a four-digit birthday in day/month order; this sets a value used later, so note it down. Rotate the dial and confirm each digit, then continue the conversations toward the hotel. Y opens Catherine and the guidebook whenever you need to review clues.
Controls
DS: D-pad moves at a run; hold B while moving to walk. With touch movement, drag inside the blue circle to walk or the outer white circle to run. A or the exclamation icon interacts with flashing objects. Y opens Catherine; X activates the limited search function. Drag a jack into its socket, turn the dial or use left/right, press A/PUSH for a digit and B to erase a digit.

Flower, Sun and Rain follows searcher Sumio Mondo through the hotel and surrounding island, where conversations and recurring situations gradually reveal a larger mystery. His briefcase Catherine connects to people and objects with different jacks, turning investigations into numerical problems. The island guidebook contains clues hidden in descriptions, diagrams and seemingly incidental facts, so reading it closely matters as much as reaching the next character. The DS version uses touch controls for movement and Catherine's dial, and adds optional Lost & Found puzzles alongside the story Requests. Record useful numbers and keep track of the current Request before returning to earlier ones.
