How to Play Formation Z

Quick start

Immediately after the start, proceed in walking mode, avoid enemy bullets with the left and right arrow buttons, and defeat small enemies with normal bullets (B). Avoid steps and low enemies by jumping with A. When the number of formations in the air increases, press and hold A to transform into a fighter, and use up and down movement to align the line of fire. However, during flight, your energy will continue to decrease, so get down to the ground and secure supplies before you run out of energy. You can efficiently break through a hard target by holding down B to charge a pulse laser and then releasing it the moment the enemy lines up.

Controls

Cross button left and right: Move forward and backward while walking/flying. In flight mode, adjust the altitude by moving up and down. A button: Jump in walking mode, press and hold to transform into a fighter, release when the conditions are met to return to walking mode. B button: Fires normal bullets, press and hold to charge pulse laser and fire. START: Game start/pause. SELECT: Select game settings on the title screen.

Formation Z — About this game

"Formation Z" is a side-scrolling shooting game in which players control the variable combat mecha "Expel" to stop the invasion of the Allied forces. On the ground, you can move and jump as a walking robot, and if you hold down A, you can transform into a fighter jet and fly through the air. Regular bullets can be fired in rapid succession, and if you hold down the button, you can fire a pulsed laser that pierces through enemies. Energy is consumed during flight, so it is essential to make the decision to return to the ground and collect supplies. In situations where ground objects and enemies flying in formation appear at the same time, the key strategy is to quickly switch between the two forms and charge shots at strong enemies and obstacles.
