Controls
Move with the D-pad and attack normally with A. B, X and Y use their assigned skills; set those assignments through the lower-screen touch menus. L/R cycle menu pages. For Soul Capture, hit a nearby enemy with the assigned skill, then rapidly press that same button until the capture gauge empties. Inventory management uses the touch screen.
From the Abyss — About this game
From the Abyss sends an adventurer into the monster-filled depths threatening Rubenhaut. The original DS action RPG combines real-time weapon combat with Soul Capture, a skill that lets you take techniques from enemies and expand your options beyond equipment alone. Three skill assignments sit alongside the standard attack, making it worth choosing a useful set before entering the next abyss. Town provides missions, shopping, storage, tutorials and saving; the dungeon then tests your range, timing and willingness to retreat from a dangerous enemy rather than trade hits.
