How to Play Garry Kitchen's Battletank

Quick start

Begin the first mission and check the briefing before moving. Steer with Left and Right. Hold B and press Up to accelerate; hold B and press Down to slow or reverse once stopped. Use Up and Down without B to lower or raise the weapon sight, then press A to fire. SELECT cycles through the available weapons, while START opens the map so you can compare enemy contacts with mountains and choose a clear approach. Keep an eye on fuel and ammunition, use wire-guided missiles against distant tanks, and avoid spending heavy rounds on targets the machine gun can handle.

Controls

D-pad Left/Right: steer the tank. D-pad Up/Down: lower or raise the cannon or weapon sight. Hold B + Up/Down: increase speed, decrease speed, or reverse when stopped. A: fire the selected weapon. SELECT: select a new weapon. START: view the map. A + B together: pause or unpause.

Garry Kitchen's Battletank — About this game

Garry Kitchen's Battletank is a single-player armored combat game viewed from inside an M1 tank. Each mission places you behind a dashboard filled with speed, fuel, damage, ammunition, range, and radar information, so success depends on reading the instruments as well as aiming. You steer around terrain, adjust the weapon sight, locate hostile armor on the map, and choose among the 150 mm cannon, wire-guided missiles, smoke, and machine guns. Objectives and battlefield conditions change from mission to mission, while fuel, ammunition, and accumulated damage limit reckless attacks. Careful positioning and deliberate weapon selection are more effective than charging directly toward every radar contact.
