How to Play Gauntlet II
Quick start
At character selection, press Up for Warrior, Down for Wizard, Left for Elf, or Right for Valkyrie, then press a button to begin. Move with the D-pad and fire with A; concentrate shots on monster generators before their crowds grow. Pick up food to offset the constant health drain, keep keys for doors and locked chests, and use B to unleash a collected potion when the screen becomes dangerous. Follow labeled exits instead of lingering for every treasure. Additional players can join a running game by pressing A on their controller when the required multiplayer adapter is available.
Controls

A: fire the hero's weapon; on another controller, join a game already in progress. B: activate collected magic power. Character selection: Up Warrior, Down Wizard, Left Elf, Right Valkyrie.
Gauntlet II — About this game
Gauntlet II brings the cooperative arcade dungeon formula to NES with support for as many as four simultaneous players through a Four Score or NES Satellite. Thor, Thyra, Merlin, and Questor balance armor, speed, ranged attacks, hand-to-hand strength, and magic differently. Health falls with time as well as enemy damage, so each maze is a contest between exploration and urgency. Players fire through hordes, destroy the generators that keep producing them, collect keys and food, and search for an exit while dealing with traps, force fields, transporters, false passages, and the monster-attracting status known as It. More than 100 mazes and occasional treasure rooms make coordination and fair sharing of supplies essential in a group.
