How to Play Baseball
Quick start
Choose one player, a rule mode, a team and a starting pitcher. When pitching, press A twice in sequence; when batting, watch the pitch before swinging with A.
Controls
D-pad: position the batter or move fielders. Pitching: A sets the stance, then A releases; up slows the pitch and down speeds it up. Batting: A swings. Fielding: direction+A throws to a base: right first, up second, left third, down home. START calls time.
Baseball — About this game
Baseball for Game Boy follows both sides of an inning, switching from the pitcher and batter to the wider field once the ball is hit. Choose a team and starting pitcher, work the count at the plate, and turn hits into runs without giving away outs. Fielding and throws to the right base matter just as much as a powerful swing.
As the pitcher, learn the two A presses that set the stance and release the ball. In the field, check the runners before throwing: an accurate throw to the relevant base is more valuable than hurrying to throw anywhere.
