How to Play Bataille Navale
Quick start
Start a solo game and arrange the fleet before choosing target squares. Move the cursor with the pad and confirm with A; use B to back out before committing to a choice. Spread early searches across the grid, then test adjacent squares after a hit to trace the rest of the ship.
Controls
D-pad: move the grid cursor and choose menu entries. A: confirm ship placement, a target or a command. B: cancel/back before confirming. Use the hit and miss marks to choose the next target instead of repeatedly firing at an exhausted square.

Each shot supplies a clue: misses eliminate empty areas, while hits invite careful follow-up along a likely ship line. Options change the battlefield size and fleet, and battle variants give different ship types special ways to attack.
