How to Play Castle Quest
Quick start
Choose Quest Mode and inspect a piece with B before moving it with A. A also stops the battle's card roulette. Protect the king and preserve a rear space for retreat rather than accepting every fight. SELECT displays pieces in editing and START finishes editing; an edited board is not saved after game over.

D-pad: move cursor/select option; A: confirm/show movement range; stop card roulette; B: cancel/show unit condition; copy piece in editor; SELECT: display pieces in editor; START: start game/end editing.
Castle Quest — About this game
Castle Quest turns a chess-like board into a contest of monsters, magic and card roulette. Move one piece at a time, inspect its reach and condition, then decide whether an attack can expose the opposing king. Battles do not simply remove the piece you touch: cards and remaining stamina can reverse the outcome. Keep a retreat square open and watch the approaching night, when exhausted forces recover for another push.
