Quick start
Start the story and visit the school for the first card-guessing game. Follow the next conversation to Maruo's home and then Butaro's stilt race. Alternate A and B for the race instead of pressing the same button twice; ask at school for a continuation password.
Controls
D-pad: move around town or choose an answer. A: confirm choices. Stilt race: alternate A and B; repeating the same button causes a fall. Stone skipping: left/right sets the position and A throws when the power bar is high enough. Dance practice: reproduce the displayed sequence.

Maruko has to gather Japanese gifts for a visiting prince, sending her through familiar homes and meeting places around town. Moving freely on the map does not remove the story's order: conversations lead to the next errand, and minigames must be cleared to collect the presents. Stilt racing, dance-memory practice, stone skipping and other tests ask for different kinds of timing. The ending reflects how many games you failed on the first try, while a password from school lets the trip continue later. Keep track of the next visit as well as the action in the current game.
