How to Play Downtown - Nekketsu Koushinkyoku - Dokodemo Daiundoukai
Quick start
Pick a team and practise the cross-country movement. Double-tap Left/Right to dash and use A+B to jump. Over an item A or B picks it up; while holding it A uses it and B throws it. Check event-specific attacks before fighting.
Controls
Directional pad: move. Left/Right, Left/Right: double tap left/right to dash. A + B: jump. A / B: pick up item while standing over it. A: holding item: use; over fallen rival: lift, then swing. B: throw held item or carried rival. A: fighting events: punch. B: fighting events: side kick.

Take a school team through a chaotic athletic meet featuring cross-country, fighting bread races, obstacle rooms, bomb tag and elimination fighting. Items can become weapons, and a fallen rival can be lifted and thrown, so winning requires more than running quickly. Each athlete brings different strengths to the event. Learn the shared jump and item controls first, then notice that some attacks change with the event and the direction the character faces.
