Press START, choose はじめから and name a knight for a straightforward first attempt. A attacks/confirms, B opens commands; check equipment there before leaving the first town. START pauses, and continuing returns to the last inn used.

Check equipment and supplies before leaving safety, and learn an attack’s reach against a nearby enemy before chasing it into a crowded room.
