How to Play Fastest Lap
Quick start
Choose 1PLAYER, enter a name and select FREE PRACTICE before a championship. Pick a team and circuit, check the button setup, then practise A acceleration, B braking and left/right steering. Slow before the bend and improve one lap at a time.

Left/Right: steer car. A: accelerate in selected button setup. B: brake in selected button setup.

Race an overhead Formula-style car through qualifying and main events, choosing one of four teams and adjusting engine and tyres for the circuit. Other cars do not cause collisions, so the challenge centres on the road, cornering and improving your time. Free Practice offers a useful place to learn the layouts before a championship. Watch the approaching bends, ease your pace before turning and compare your next lap with the last rather than chasing another car off the racing line.
