How to Play Hyper Lode Runner
Quick start
Choose GAME with SELECT and START, then begin at an early level. A digs right and B digs left; practise trapping a robot while keeping your own escape route. After collecting all gold, look for the new ladder. Pause with START, then SELECT to inspect the whole level.
Controls
D-pad: run, climb ladders and move along ropes; Down drops from a ladder. A: dig right. B: dig left. START: pause/resume. SELECT during play: self-destruct and retry the level; while paused, inspect the whole level. START+SELECT resets.
Hyper Lode Runner — About this game
This is a pre-release edition. Collect every gold pile in scrolling labyrinths, then reach the escape ladder that appears. Robots chase along ladders and ropes, but digging temporary holes can trap them and reveal gold they carry. Solid blocks cannot be dug, and closing holes are dangerous to the runner as well as enemies. The challenge is to shape a route before the bricks return, using robot movement and occasional keys or doors to complete a level without being cornered. Choose GAME with SELECT and START, then begin at an early level. A digs right and B digs left; practise trapping a robot while keeping your own escape route. After collecting all gold, look for the new ladder. Pause with START, then SELECT to inspect the whole level.
