How to Play Madden 96
Quick start
Choose an exhibition with a short game length. Set teams with the pad and START, select Start Game, then learn A snaps before trying passes.
Controls
Directional pad: move. A: offense: snap, pass to receiver A; receiving: dive; defense before snap: change player. B: pass to receiver B; rushing: dive/QB slide; defense after snap: closest defender. SELECT: show audible choices before snap.

Before the snap you can change assignments with audibles; afterward the buttons handle passing, rushing and defender selection. Reading the formation matters as much as reacting quickly.
