How to Play Master Karateka
Quick start
Select PLAY with SELECT and START, choose an enemy level, then allocate power, life and speed using Up/Down and A/B. In combat A kicks and B punches. Practise middle attacks and guards before spending points on a specialised build.
Controls
A: kick; B: punch in fighting stance. Up/Down modify attack height and guard; left/right advance or retreat. When no enemy is in front, Up takes a relaxed stance and Down returns to fighting. START: pause; SELECT while paused chooses an item, then SELECT unpaused uses it while standing still in fighting stance.

Fight through Akuma’s stronghold to rescue Mariko, combining measured karate duels with movement through dangerous territory. Before the journey and between stages, distribute experience among power, life and speed to shape your fighter. Punches and kicks can target different heights, while high or low guards answer incoming blows. A relaxed stance moves faster but leaves you vulnerable, and stored items offer recovery or other help when used from a still fighting stance. Select PLAY with SELECT and START, choose an enemy level, then allocate power, life and speed using Up/Down and A/B. In combat A kicks and B punches. Practise middle attacks and guards before spending points on a specialised build.
