How to Play Midori no Makibaou
Quick start
Train once at the ranch before a race, then set the support cards. Use the D-pad to find a clear racing position and A for the whip while watching stamina. Keep a Chubee card for a long unobstructed straight rather than spending it into a corner.

D-pad positions Makibao on the track and selects menus. A uses the whip, consuming the stamina bar. Prepare up to two support cards before the race and use the card action at the chosen moment.

Makibao's racing career depends on what happens before the starting line as well as on the track. Train the small horse, choose up to two support cards and then guide his position among the other runners. A whip helps raise or hold speed, but its use draws on the visible stamina bar. A Chubee card sends him rushing straight until something stops him, making a clear long straight a better opportunity than a crowded turn.
