How to Play Momotarou Collection
Quick start
Choose between two separate Momotarou games: the action adventure Dengeki and the railway board game Super Momotarou Dentetsu II.
Momotarou Dengeki: Start and practice a short A jump and B peach throw. Defeat a nearby enemy, carry its peach and test using it against the next foe or as a step. Try a dango costume when found, then check high routes that its movement ability makes easier.
Super Momotarou Dentetsu II: Choose the players and game length, check the destination and take a first roll while planning a purchase you can still afford. D-Pad: choose the die, card, route and property options. A: confirm/roll and advance messages. B: cancel or return before a choice is final. Read the destination and available cash before buying at a station.
Controls
Momotarou Dengeki: Left/Right moves; A jumps; B throws peaches and holding it while moving runs. Use directional movement to line up carried peaches before throwing. In the pheasant costume, hold A during the jump to prolong flight; use the monkey’s climbing ability where the scenery allows it.
Super Momotarou Dentetsu II: D-Pad: choose the die, card, route and property options. A: confirm/roll and advance messages. B: cancel or return before a choice is final. Read the destination and available cash before buying at a station.
Momotarou Collection — About this game
Choose between two separate Momotarou games: the action adventure Dengeki and the railway board game Super Momotarou Dentetsu II.
Momotarou Dengeki: Throw peaches at oni in a folklore platform adventure with a useful twist: defeated enemies become peaches that can be carried, thrown at another foe or used as stepping stones. Chaining hits makes larger fruit, while dog, monkey and pheasant costumes change movement abilities after collecting dango. Look above and below the obvious path for routes and treasure, and choose between a steady stream of small throws or the risk of preparing a powerful large peach for a boss. Start and practice a short A jump and B peach throw. Defeat a nearby enemy, carry its peach and test using it against the next foe or as a step. Try a dango costume when found, then check high routes that its movement ability makes easier.
Super Momotarou Dentetsu II: Super Momotarou Dentetsu II turns Japan's railway map into a competition for wealth. Roll the dice, choose a route toward the shared destination and buy station properties to build assets along the way. Reaching the destination brings an immediate advantage, but the final result depends on the value accumulated over the game. Cards and changing circumstances can make the shortest line a poor choice. The Game Boy version supports taking turns on one machine, so each player can weigh purchases and the next journey before passing control.
