How to Play Montezuma's Return!
Quick start
Use the opening rooms to learn the fixed distance of a running jump. Approach edges carefully and jump only after checking the landing. Climb rather than drop down a long shaft, collect keys before retracing your route, and write down progress passwords when they appear. SELECT checks the map.
Controls
Left/Right moves; Up/Down climbs ropes and poles. Either A or B jumps, so the second action button is another way to jump rather than an attack key. SELECT opens the map. Plan horizontal jumps before leaving the ledge, since airborne correction is limited.
