How to Play NBA Jam
Quick start
Begin with the default controls and choose a team. Enter initials or move to EX to skip record setup. In play A passes and B shoots; hold START for turbo and use SELECT to pause. Try passing into a clear lane before attempting a dunk.
Controls
Default: D-pad moves. A passes/steals, B shoots/blocks. START is turbo; START+A shoves without the ball. SELECT pauses. Options remap controls.

NBA Jam turns professional basketball into quick two-on-two contests with dramatic shots, dunks and physical defense. Pass to create an opening, release a jump shot at the right point and use limited turbo for a burst of speed or a stronger move. Defensive stealing, blocking and shoving disrupt the other side. Team choice and optional initials/password records let a series of games become a longer effort to defeat the league’s opponents. Begin with the default controls and choose a team.
