Winter Olympic Games brings seven snow-and-ice events into training sessions and an Olympic programme. Slalom and downhill ask for a clean line, biathlon adds shooting to the management of a tired skier, and ski jumping turns takeoff and landing into decisive moments. Practise one discipline before entering a longer series rather than assuming the same rhythm fits every sport. In biathlon, a brief recovery can be better than exhausting the heart gauge before a climb; at the range, a quick careless shot can add more time than it saves.
