How to Play Smurfs, The
Quick start
Choose the opening stage, practise a short jump and uncover a mushroom bonus. Use a walking approach to the first enemy before trying a run; keep keys for the rescue route. Left/Right move; Up climbs; Down crouches or picks/puts an object. A jumps. B+Left/Right runs; B throws a held object. START starts/pauses; SELECT moves menu cursor.

Lead Hefty Smurf through rivers, mountains and other hazards to rescue the captured Smurfs. Jump on enemies, search mushrooms for hidden bonuses and use objects such as keys, gifts and trampolines where the route calls for them. Running helps cross ground quickly, but carrying and placing an object can matter more than speed. Watch health and the stage timer, collect the stars that open bonus play and adapt when the journey switches to a special sequence rather than ordinary walking and jumping.
