This edition uses Chinese title graphics. Travel through Kanto, catch wild Pokémon and build a team for turn-based battles. Choose moves with type matchups in mind, heal at Pokémon Centers and challenge Gym Leaders to progress toward the League. Capturing different species fills the Pokédex, while party choices and limited move uses make preparation between routes important. Japanese Green shares the journey with Red but offers a different selection of wild Pokémon.
