How to Play Resident Evil Gaiden
Quick start
Press START at the title screen; choose NEW if saved-game options appear. Begin with Barry on the side deck and head west, searching boxes for ammunition and herbs and collecting the document before entering the large doors. Check the map with START and read the early instructions. For a fight, hold B, move the cursor onto an enemy in range and release B when the cursor changes.
Controls
Exploration: D-pad moves; A examines, opens doors or collects items. Hold B to aim and release it over an eligible target to enter battle. SELECT opens inventory; START opens the map. Battle: left/right scrolls the view, A fires or confirms, B switches characters, SELECT opens inventory, and START shows the escape target. Time A on the target to hit or retreat; battle continues in inventory.
Resident Evil Gaiden — About this game
Explore the ship from above, read documents on the PDA and search for herbs, armour and weapons. Encounters switch to a separate battle screen: firing while the slider crosses the target gives a stronger hit. Party members can carry different equipment, and retreat has its own timing target. Inventory screens do not stop battles, so choosing supplies quickly matters. The game offers saves when objectives are completed.
