How to Play Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade Game
Quick start
At the title screen, use SELECT to choose one- or two-player mode and press START. Use the directional pad to choose a Turtle, then confirm with A; in two-player mode, each player chooses on their own controller. Begin by moving into reach and attacking with B. Press A to jump, then B while holding left or right for a jump kick. Watch your energy and collect pizza to recover. Choose your Turtle carefully: you cannot change brothers mid-game.
Controls
Directional pad: move up, down, left, right or diagonally; choose a Turtle on the selection screen. A: jump; confirm the selected Turtle. B: weapon attack. A followed by B while holding left or right: jump kick. A+B together: combined jumping attack. SELECT: choose one/two players at the title, or CONTINUE/END after losing the last life. START: begin after that selection.

This Australian NES release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade Game is a scrolling beat ’em up, not the first NES Turtles adventure. Pick Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo or Donatello and take on the Foot Clan to rescue April O’Neil and confront Shredder in the Technodrome. Each brother brings his own weapon, while the fighting combines movement across the scene, weapon strikes and jumping attacks. One or two players can tackle the campaign, but a chosen Turtle cannot be swapped during play. The route includes city streets, sewers and a snowy encounter with Tora, as well as Shogun’s challenge. Pizza restores lost energy, making recovery and avoiding repeated hits important for surviving the journey.
