Bad News Baseball — About this game
Gekito Stadium is Tecmo's Japanese Famicom baseball game and the basis for the western release Bad News Baseball. Twelve fictional clubs mirror contemporary professional teams, and every roster includes individual batting, running, arm, and position-specific fielding ratings. The single-player tournament asks one chosen club to defeat all eleven opponents, with passwords preserving progress. Batting, pitching, base running, throws, pickoffs, and diving catches are player controlled, while dramatic cut-ins highlight home runs and close tags. The game also offers head-to-head play, all-star selections, and a spectator mode, making lineup construction and defensive placement as important as timing a swing.
