Search platforms for throwing weapons and bombs, use Down plus Jump to drop through thin floors, and hold Up while jumping to catch overhead grips. Save the health-draining special move for crowded or dangerous sections.

By default, A attacks and also throws a collected weapon, B jumps with height and distance based on how long it is held, and C drops or throws the current bomb. Down+B drops through a jump-through platform; Up+B catches an overhead grip and pressing them again pulls the ninja up. Up+A performs a defensive slash, B then A gives a flying kick, and A then B triggers the character-specific special move at an energy cost. Start selects and pauses.
