How to Play Akira

Quick start

Use the level-select map to sample the unfinished stages in any order; they are grouped by Kaneda (K) and Tetsuo (T) and many cannot be completed. Start with In the Sewers to learn the clearest action controls, then try the hospital’s first-person exploration and the motorcycle or isometric experiments. Save ammunition where it exists, collect keycards in Hospital #1, and expect loops, missing enemies, graphical errors or crashes. This is an unreleased prototype showcase, not a finished campaign.

Controls

Controls change by stage. In Kaneda’s sewer platform stage, Left/Right moves, Up/Down climbs or switches foreground layers, A shoots or punches, A+Down blocks when unarmed, B jumps and C kicks. In Tetsuo’s hospital stage, Up/Down moves, Left/Right strafes and aims, A fires psychic blasts, B+Left/Right selects an item, A+B uses it, and C+Left/Right turns. Start usually returns to level select. The final fight uses A punch, B block, C kick and Up+C jump kick.
