How to Play American Gladiators
Quick start
Choose Head to Head for a quick two-player practice run, or Tournament to compete alone or with a group through quarter-finals, semi-finals, and the final. Enter each player, select GAME ON, and learn the six events in order: Assault, Joust, The Wall, Atlasphere, Powerball, and the Eliminator. Controls change by event, so watch which colour you wear and use the opening seconds to identify the objective before rushing; the highest total score after all six events advances.
Controls
The D-pad moves the competitor and also aims the crosshairs in Assault. Start begins play and pauses. A, B, and C all confirm menu choices, but event actions differ: B fires in Assault, drops from ropes, jumps Eliminator hurdles, and chooses a lane; C picks up or drops an Assault weapon; A and C sprint in the Eliminator. In Assault, approach a weapon with the D-pad, press C to pick it up, aim with the D-pad, fire with B, and press C again to put it down.
