How to Play Awesome Possum Kicks Dr. Machino's Butt
Quick start
Press Start and leave the difficulty on Easy while learning the Rain Forest. Defeat mechanical enemies by landing on their heads while moving downward; touching them from the side hurts Awesome instead. Collect newspapers and cans whenever possible, because 50 recyclables fully heal him and award an extra life. Touch each wooden Checkpoint sign before exploring risky branches, and look for the Win banner at the end. If it does not appear, the level boss still has to be found and defeated.
Controls
Left and Right move Awesome, and Down ducks. A, B, or C jumps, with a higher jump when held; the same buttons make him swim in the ocean world. At high speed he curls into a ball and is safe from everything except explosives. Press Down just after being hit near the ground to play dead and make most enemies leave. Start pauses; while paused, tap the D-pad and press Start again to return to the last checkpoint or leave a bonus stage.
