How to Play Batman Returns
Quick start
Move carefully across the opening Gotham rooftops: hidden enemies and falling hazards punish blind jumps. B handles close punches, while a direction with B produces a kick; save A-button weapons for enemies that are unsafe to approach because ammunition is limited. Use Up to aim the grappling hook at overhead anchors, jump with C, and combine C+A while airborne to glide with the cape. Start opens the equipment screen, where you can choose among collected weapons. Hearts restore health, mirrors grant an extra life and bat icons refill cape power.
Controls
Use the D-pad to move and crouch. A uses the currently equipped weapon, B punches, C jumps, and Start pauses while opening the equipment menu. Press a direction with B to kick, Down+B for a crouching attack, and Up to aim the grappling hook; while airborne, C+Up aims the hook upward. Press C+A in the air to glide with Batman's cape. Weapon pickups supply Batarangs, smoke bombs, bats, wire guns and giant Batarangs, while the bat pickup restores the cape meter needed for gliding.
