How to Play Cadash
Quick start
Choose the Fighter for the simplest first run, or the Mage if you want ranged spells and do not mind managing MP. Talk to every character in the opening town, buy the best affordable weapon or armour, and enter the caves only after noting the clues. Defeat monsters for gold and experience, then return to inns and shops when HP, herbs, or equipment become a problem. In two-player play, choose different classes and keep both characters on the same screen; let the Fighter hold the front while the Mage charges a spell from a safer distance.
Controls
Use Left and Right to move, Up to enter doors or climb, and Down to crouch or climb down. B attacks; press an upward diagonal with B to strike above, or Down+B while airborne for a downward kick. A or C jumps, and Down+A in the air performs another downward attack. Start pauses and also opens the status window. In shops, move the selection with the D-pad and buy with B. As the Mage, hold B until the desired spell symbol appears, then release B to cast it; stronger spells unlock as the Mage gains levels and consume MP.
