How to Play Warrior of Rome
Quick start
Select GAME for a first campaign and use the opening Crete stage to learn the command flow. Move the cursor to a blue base, press A, choose a unit and FAST MOVEMENT, then mark a destination and confirm it with A. Keep combat units advancing while engineers dig pits or build barricades, but rest tired formations before their condition reaches the red zone. Protect bases and bridges, reinforce any flashing base immediately, and set a retreat percentage so a damaged unit withdraws instead of being destroyed. The clock stops while a window is open, so use command windows to think through several moves.
Controls
Move the cursor with the D-pad. A opens command windows, confirms a highlighted command or destination, and advances story text. B cancels a choice or closes a window. Hold C with the D-pad to scroll the Section Map; on the Full Map, A or B returns to the Section Map. Start opens the pre-game menu at the title screen and pauses or resumes the battle. To issue an order, place the cursor on a friendly unit or base, press A, select movement, rest, trap, repair, or another available command with A, point to the target square, and press A again; use B if the route is wrong.
