Begin with an Exhibition and keep ABC Passing on, which labels three eligible receivers with A, B or C. Select a formation and play, press C at the line to snap, then tap the receiver’s letter for a lob or hold it for a bullet pass. On a run, use A to dive, tap or hold B for a burst or spin, and C to hurdle. On defense, B takes the player closest to the ball and C performs the context-sensitive block, interception or power tackle. Learn the kick meter before starting a season.

Before the snap, C snaps the ball, A opens an audible and B fakes the snap. With ABC Passing on, press C after the snap to display receiver letters, then tap A, B or C for a lob or hold the chosen button for a bullet. Ball-carrier controls are A dive, B tap for an explosive step or hold for a spin, and C hurdle; C also hands off or laterals on option plays. On defense, A delivers a hit, B switches to the nearest defender and C attempts the appropriate block, interception or power tackle. Kicks use C to start and stop the power meter.
