How to Play College Football USA 97
Quick start
Start in Exhibition and use the default automatic pass-catching mode until the playbook feels familiar. Select a formation and play, press C to snap, then show the receiver letters and tap the matching button for a lob or hold it for a bullet. A dives, B supplies a burst or spin and C hurdles when carrying the ball. On defense, switch toward the ball instead of chasing with a distant lineman. Practise kickoffs and field goals with the moving kick meter before beginning a full season.
Controls
Before the snap, A calls an audible, B fakes the snap and C snaps. With ABC Passing enabled, C displays receiver letters and A, B or C throws to the marked receiver; tap for a lob and hold for a bullet. With ABC Passing off, A and B cycle through five receivers and C throws. As ball carrier, A dives, tap B to burst, hold B to spin and press C to hurdle. Manual reception uses B to take the receiver, C to raise his hands or jump and A to dive. Kicking uses the D-pad for aim and C to operate the meter. Start pauses.
