How to Play CutThroat Island
Quick start
Select Morgan Adams or William Shaw, then learn the basic swordplay before chasing the treasure. Move carefully through each brawling and platforming section, break containers and search side routes for keys, medicine and extra lives. The aggression indicator unlocks awarded bonus moves when it flashes, so do not waste time trying them before they are active. Blocking is safer than trading hits with crowds, and a jump followed by an attack produces the useful scissor kick. Five special treasure chests are optional collectibles; the immediate objective is to survive each area, defeat pursuers and reach the next set piece.
Controls
The D-pad moves the character; Start pauses. B performs a sword slash during swordplay or a weapon-butt strike while brawling. C jumps, and pressing B after C performs a scissor kick. Hold Back and press B while grappling to throw an enemy behind you. A plus a direction throws a carried weapon, while A+B blocks on a three-button pad; a six-button pad may also use X, Y or Z to block. Later bonus moves appear on screen after they are awarded and only work while the aggression indicator is flashing.
