How to Play Cyberball
Quick start
Start with an exhibition before committing to the 28-team League. A Cyberball game has six three-minute periods and no punts or field goals, so every possession is built around run, pass or option plays. Pick a simple formation, snap the ball and follow the intended route rather than improvising immediately. Reaching midfield cools the explosive ball; if it becomes critical, a tackle on the carrier can cause an explosion and fumble. On defence, save the once-per-play turbo burst until you can close on the carrier or passing lane. League wins and successful plays earn money used to repair, replace and upgrade damaged robots.
Controls
The D-pad moves the controlled robot, aims passes or pitches, and navigates plays and menus. A, B and C share the same contextual action: confirm a selection, snap the ball, pitch or pass on offence, and trigger the controlled defender’s turbo burst. Start begins and pauses play. Watch the on-screen receiver or defender marker because the active robot changes with the play. Turbo is limited to one burst per defensive play, and the ball state matters: crossing midfield resets its danger, while a tackle with a critical ball risks an explosion.
